Why, yes -- yes, I am trying to make you somewhat nauseous. Whatever gave me away?
Too long for Twitter, too short for a proper blog post.
Deploring Christopher Hitchens' post-September 11th shift in politics while admiring his writing skills is more wishy-washy [or cravenly dishonest, whichever you'd would prefer] than deploring the stupidity of some superhero comic book while admiring the drawing skill that was squandered on it. The key difference is that a Gil Kane comic never advocated for the U.S. to invade and indefinitely occupy sovereign nations on the flimsiest of pretexts in a war to eradicate abstract concepts like "terror" or "islamofascism."
